Swirly Crayons

Pre-schooler fun on a rainy day!!

First of all... never throw away broken crayons... collect them in a little jar till you have a bunch.  Then wait for a rainy day when you need a little activity to entertain your kiddo.

Give your little squirt the fun task of pealing the paper off of the broken crayons. Then they can break the larger pieces into smaller pieces. Fun Fun!

Have that sweetie pie distribute the crayons into muffin tins. I suggest using mini-muffin tins, as the results of my first try using regular muffin tins were a bit large for my Beni's little fingers.  Better yet... heart shaped tins!

Now bake them until they melt (for 10-15 minutes) at 250°F or 120°C.  Let them cool down completely and pop them out.

Now let your kiddo draw away.

Easy-Peasy... and fun for your little one!!

Pinafore Dress

This is a really cute dress that will become a very cute top for Lia this summer.  Before I realized that there were so many free tutorials out there, I actually bought the pattern for this pinafore dress (McCalls 2213).

Since then I found several good tutorials online.  Although it is boxier in the back, this is a good one to follow: www.thestuffilivefor.com.

My friend Tabitha taught me to make a beautiful bow to match... and there's a great tutorial for that at www.rockinribbon.com.

Toddler Summertime Top... so cute!!

This is my all-time favorite summer top for a toddler.  The reason this design is so great is that most 12 to 24 month-olds have a little baby gut on them, and these little ruffles accommodate that belly beautifully.

Tutorial can be found at www.jcarolinecreative.com.

And here's my little Emilia in one of the many tops I made from this tutorial...
